New Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin is looking to have the same impact on the Premiership as what Dimitar Berbatov had for Tottenham Hotspur last season.
Voronin played with Berbatov during their time together at Bayer Leverkusen and the Ukrainian international insists that he has not moved to Anfield just to make up the numbers in Rafa Benitez’s squad.

Bulgarian winger Martin Petrov has joined Manchester City for £4.7million.
Petrov passed a medical at the Carrington training ground and has agreed a three-year contract, subject to a work permit.

Sam Allardyce has admitted that Kieron Dyer could leave Newcastle United because of “family problems”.
Allardyce will only let the England international leave the club if the right offer is made. Dyer has been linked with moves to Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Manchester City in the last couple of weeks.

Tottenham Hotspur continued their unbeaten pre-season with a 2-1 win against Orlando Pirates in Cape Town on Tuesday evening.
Darren Bent got Spurs off the mark with a sublime chip, after a great through ball from Tom Huddlestone. Forgotten man Wayne Routledge added a second for Spurs.

West Ham United are set to step up their interest in Newcastle United’s Kieron Dyer, according to The Times.
Hammers boss Alan Curbishley is keen to recruit Dyer after new signing Julien Faubert damaged his Achilles tendon, ruling him out for around six months.
